I got a courtesy car thorough Outsurence, the car, AVIS Schoeman Str in Pretoria. I got the car on 15 March 2013 & paid R750 as a deposit. When I returned the car on the 15 of April, AVIS receiving official told me that I returned the car late, and there would be a penalty. When we check on my receipt, I actually brought the car earlier. The official checked the car and told me that all is well and I will get my refund of R750. The following day the official said that they will deduct about R70 for fuel. 2 days later, I was told that the car was too dirty I have to pay R150. When I said the car was not dirty I was told that actually the windscreen had a chip of which I must pay. At the end, I told them to take whatever amount they want to take. I was told that I will receive a refund of R500. I was only paid R230. I contacted the official in charge about shortfall on my refund, but I could get anything.
What makes doubt the integrity of this global company is how damages and claims on the car are done long after a client is gone. The company makes lot of bits and pieces of stories to ensure that a client pays something regardless - basically the damages were framed
