Good Day, On 2 occasions my Land Rover Discovery3 HSE went to Fourways Land Rover, twice I requested the glow plugs be checked or replaced, twice I was assured the glow plugs were working. The LR starts difficult only in cold weather. 20 000km later it really got bad I took it to Fourways and said I must insist that they replace the glow plugs as my new battery was taking strain on the long cranking. At no time was I ever offered any other advice or solution for this problem. After they removed one glow plug stripped another and broke one off did I get a phone call to tell me the damage and what should they do. What option other than say " I need my vehicle repair" Now I get a verbal estimation that it is going to cost me R 28500.00 to repair. I made an appointment with the DP and workshop manager to discuss the matter. I was assured that they did everything by the book and that they did nothing wrong. I was told glow plugs are not required in SA.(Then why am I writing this letter?)The DP offered a cheaper labour rate and 10% discount. Why must I pay for something I had nothing to do with. The law states return the vehicle in the same condition you received it!
