Land Rover South Africa
NEW LAND ROVER ENGINE FAILURE AT 18 000km!!!

DO NOT BUY A LAND ROVER PRODUCT! You will experience bad service, incompetence from service departments, inferior build quality, and a TOTAL lack of care and responsibility from LAND ROVER!!

Our 7 month old 2012 Defender 110 with 18 000km (serviced at 16 000km) broke down (engine failed) while on holiday in the Etosha Game Reserve in Namibia. We contacted LR assist both in SA and Namibia and found that this facility is totally useless and run by dim wits! Basically we were on our own! After great cost we managed to get the car towed to LR Windhoek where is has been since 21 Dec 2012 awaiting approval from LR for engine replacement. They indicated that they would only replace the cylinder head (to save costs) which we rejected as why should we have a repaired motor on a new car? This is going to affect the resale value. We have already spent R 47 000.00 on additional wasted costs. This repair could take 6-8 weeks and they haven't given us a courtesy car yet! We are avid Land Rover supporters (this is our 4th one) but our opinion has changed as LAND ROVER do not care about their customers and owning a Land Rover WILL lead to much frustration, inconvenience and FINANCIAL RUIN!!!
