Refusal to Supply Insensitive Information

My 2006 Jaguar X-type's engine packed up. I approached Jaguar Umhlanga for a quotation to have it fixed, but was informed that they could only provide me with a reconditioned engine - they did not fix engines.

Hence, I bought engine parts on the advise of my mechanic. When the engineers, who were working on the engine requested the information on the Main Housing Size and Main Torque, Jaguar refused to supply the information. When I asked Jaguar for the same information, they also refused despite the fact that I provided them with the VIN number.

Subsequently I requested the information from Jaguar South Africa. They also refused and insisted that I brought the vehicle to them. The nature of the information is such that it should be freely available and could be obtained from a different car manufacturer. They ignored my last email to them on the 28th June 2012 when I charged that their practice was anti-competition.

I feel that Jaguar South Africa want to monopolise everything to do with their vehicles and that their service is not world-class. I am aggrieved as a consumer, because my vehicle is still not fixed.
