To prospective Nissan buyers. Please read first.

I purchased a brand new NP200 last year September 2012 from Nissan Gateway (Durban). I have done 8478 Km and the vehicle has NOT even been in for its first service yet. To date, I have sent the car in TWICE before for OVERHEATING (once the pipe for the aircon blew causing the car to OVERHEAT, the second time was a so call "air bubble" in the cooling system), which I was told had rectified the OVERHEATING both times.

I mostly drive very short distances with the vehicle, a maximum of 30 km at a push. The THIRD time the car OVERHEATED, I took the vehicle for a longer drive and it blew the head gasket. Now Nissan warranty wont repair the damage goods and are trying to hold me accountable for the repairs (R 28 977.24 to fix the car for the damages). I have been in contact with Nissan South Africa Customer Care, with no luck. Now I have to deal with the ombudsman.

Save yourself the hassle and rather look at Nissans competitors (Toyota, Isuzu, Ford) before buying Nissan. The quality of product and level of after sales services has been shocking. Be Warned!
