In May 2012 I bought a VW Polo from Strijdom Park VW/Unitrans. We were under pressure to exchange our two vehicles for one VW due to financial constraints. I put my trust in the Unitrans consultant because of my previous good experience purchasing a VW demo.
I started discovering a number of problems with the vehicle after purchase such as:
Ventilation shutter broken (told that the car was inspected and by inference I therefore broke it)
One tire is not the same as the rest and no real explanation is given (the car pulls to the left because of this)
The rear window tint/safety film showed lines
A part of the plastic cover under the body was missing/torn away
The paint work on the rear bumper looked faded as if re-painted as well as rather large scratches on the left front door after being informed of 'small' scratches.
Much higher mileage than anticipated (27 000km traveled in approx 6 months).
Many factors that indicate that it does not seem that the vehicle was in fact a demo.
Finally they want to cancel the service plan due to late service. Late service due to misinformation from supplier (early service moved the service shedule and failure to reset service indicator)
