I hired a car at the CTIA in March. Five minutes after receiving the car, driving on the N2 with my wife and 3 month old baby, we had a blowout of the rear tyre. We were stranded opposite Khayalitsha, and dialed the Hertz helpline, where a driver was dispatched after 45 minutes.
To my shock and dismay the charge for this defective tyre was taken off my credit card to the amount of R1554.00 WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION as I stipulated in the report form filled out by myself that I CANNOT BE HELD LIABLE. I also sent an email to Hertz disallowing them from debiting my credit card for THEIR defective goods!
I demand a refund, as my instructions have been ignored.
