Lazy staff/no stock

Two incidents in as many weeks,
1st went to KFC Edenglen bought 2 box meals at the drive through and asked for coke zero (I'm diabetic), was told by the cashier that they do not have coke zero, I asked why and she just looked at me, I then asked for the manager, a women arrived and the cashier left, explained my problem, the manager said not sure what's wrong as they have coke zero in stock. (Lazy or stupid or both?)
2nd incident, went to KP asked for coke zero and was told no coke zero, no sprite zero and no tab. Asked for double down, told no smoked chicken.
What a waste of time.
A question, does KFC train their staff to be as rude and useless as possible or do you just hire the laziest people you can.
I have been to many stores were staff have the same pathetic attitude.
I suppose it's the price we pay for convenience (note that I did not mention good food) KFC after all is a lucky packet choice...
