A group of friends of mine decided to try Cattle Baron Canal walk as we were feeling for some quality steaks.
We arrived and were seated by a Waiter named Walter who was friendly at first. We Proceeded to order drinks and together with our starters and main course. The food arrived eventually and the food was fantastic we truly enjoyed our meals. I then proceeded to ask for the bill/check we then split our bill and paid in full.
We were then harassed by our waiter "Walter" who bluntly told us and Quote "( is this R20 thats left my tip from the bill) " we then got into a debate with Walter regarding the tip as we knew it was custom to pay 10% of the bill, however this is at the guest/ customer discretion and to disrespect your customers by asking for extra money is highly unprofessional and unforgiving considering I come from a 5 star Property in Cape Town.
If this is the manner in which Cattle Baron Employees approach customers they might as well close their doors and open up a fisheries. We had no problem giving Walter his 10% tip of the bill, Its the principle that matters
To sum meal was great but was left with a bitter taste in my mouth.
