Friends and I decided that we would go to News Cafe Menlyn on Sunday around 5pm. They were still open, and people were still being served.
The owner of the store was present with his friends/family, and told us to have a round - the manager on duty would serve us.
We arrived at the bar, where the manager approached us. He informed us that they were going to close soon. We enquired about having a single round then, and we would be on our way. To which, the manager threw a little hissy fit about wanting to go home and close up.
He stormed off without a word, but with a good 'dirty' look at us.
We waited at the bar for somebody to serve us for 5 minutes. It became very clear that the manager was purposely ignoring us so that he didn't have to serve us. We left, and I'm certain we won't be returning.
I can appreciate wanting to close, but when other customers are still being served and your staff can't compromise to do one round? Also, I've never seen a manager act so childish, immature and unprofessionally.
