Employee received 12 stitches from window knives

We have offices in Braamfontein. Two of our employees were walking down the sidewalk side by side by McDonalds. There are "knives" on the windowsill to prevent people from sitting. Why are there sharp blades in an open area??? Our employe was swinging her arms normally and the blades sliced her elbow. She went to the hospital and received 12 stitches.

It's hard to believe that something like this is allowed at McDonalds. Incredibly dangerous and an absurd way to protect a windowsill from sitting!
