The efforts of the Octopus Garden regarding the canapes served at my daughters wedding was a disaster. 32 platters for 90 guests was promised which worked out to R100 per head. The platters were all different in size and were very sparsely filled and presentation was non existent. Although I ordered additional platters some of the guests needed to leave the celebration for a while to buy food at an outside venue. The cocktail sausages were not browned at all and although they appeared to be cooked they gave the appearance of still being raw.
I am left wondering whether the young lady who was left in charge of the catering had any experience in this area, as at one stage she asked whether I would like platters of fried chips, which is not the type of food one serves at a wedding. The attitude of this lady left a lot to be desired and it was evident to me that she felt that things were too much trouble, and her people skills were non-existent.
I have tried to reason with the owner regarding this disaster, however she is not prepared to hear my side of the story. She is rude and insulting and has a bad attitude regarding this and appears to believe the untruths of the lady on duty.
