After hearing great reviews from friends and colleagues on Koi Restaurant, a friend and I decided to give it a try. Firstly let me start by saying im a sucker for great food coupled with a great ambiance and i have dined at some of the most prestigious restaurants in and out of South Africa.
I completely fell in love with KOI's festive decor as i stepped in but that love was soon to be trumped by the manager. After enjoying our entr? e and had just requested the menu for our mains, a rude, condescending, egotistical while male manager asked us if we could move to the bar area to make provision for other patrons who wanted to make use of the table. Interestingly, when i looked around we were the only blacks that were there hence he found it to disrespect us and ask us to move to the bar because hey.. blacks like to drink and not enjoy a great dinner as their white counter parts. i found disturbing that this "guy" was absolutely unapologetic, lacked in communication skills to deal with patrons, discourteous and a racialist. To demean us even further, he offered a drink on the house should we have decided to move to the bar.
Sickening how you treat blacks KOI... SIES...
