Last night, 11 Jan, I decided to take my boyfriend out for a seafood birthday dinner.
Usually, we go to Ocean Basket and are never disappointed but we thought we'd try something different.
BIG MISTAKE!
We ordered the prawn and calamari combo and firstly we waited forever for our meal, considering the fact that the place wasn't even full, we didn't order starters and that seafood shouldn't cook for hours!
Secondly, when it eventually reached our table, the prawns were disgustingly small and dry! It didn't even look fresh!
I really could have saved that R109 per plate and gone to the supermarket to buy a packet of frozen shrimp meat the same size as those "prawns" for R30 and I'm sure i would've enjoyed it so much more than i did those!
You supposedly call yourselves the leaders in seafood! Really? With seafood that looks and tastes like that?
I think you should take tips from your biggest competitors OCEAN BASKET! Whose prawn and calamari combo is only R85.50, much cheaper and well worth it!
That was my first and last time i will EVER go to cape town fish market!
Utterly disgusted!
Oh and thanks for ruining the ending to a wonderful birthday celebration!
