Was in PTA last week and was really in the mood for a good fillet steak. Popped into the illinois spur in hatfield, which looks fairly new. Ordered me a medium / well fitted and waited patiently. Meal came not too long thereafter but I was confused as it was obviously a tenderised (flattended) cut of steak. with much reluctance I agreed to give it a try. Tasted very tough and extremely well done.
Had a word with the manager (Roger) and it was obvious that he had little idea of what a fillet steak was. after a bit of google, I showed him some pics of what it should look like, He called a strat meeting with his kitchen staff. Almost 45min later I was presented with what looked like a fillet. only problem was that half was very well done and the other half rare. I could not endure anymore and left hungry.
A truely dissapointing evening and to top it off they could not even apologise properly and still presented me with a full bill which I did not take kindly to.
So for my next steak fix, its probably have to be Dros or somewhere else!!!
