Cape Town Fish Market
Disgusting Food

I ordered the "Fish Hoek Platter for 1". Not only was the service slow and the food late, but the food was shocking too. The platter consisted of 4 prawns, one of which was raw, another was totally overdone. There was also a pot of mussels in a creamy sauce- the sauce was revolting: there were chunks of uncooked onions in it. The mussels were underdone, tasted too salty and were not cleaned well- I bit into various sand-like grains. I had my friends try the mussels and they all agreed they were undercooked and horrid. I was very unimpressed so I called the manager over to complain- he then told me that the sauce is delivered by an outside supplier and that they aren't responsible for the bad quality. He failed to account for the undercooked mussels and prawns. He simply said he will take up the issues with the chef. There were no apologies, the food was overpriced and I was left feeling ill, with stomach aches for the whole of the next day. Another note, they placed us at a table out of range for their card machine, making us stand and pay in the middle of the busy walkway. Will never eat at a Cape Town Fish Market again.
