Just got married and returned from honeymoon, wearing my beautiful crochet burnt orange jersey which hubby bought for me in Knysna. We were dining at San Miguel Spur, close to closing time, when it became quite hot inside. I took off my jersey and placed it on the seat next to me. We left the restaurant at 3 minutes to 10pm and at 10 past 10pm realized that I had left my jersey on the seat. Rushing back in at 10h20pm, informing the manager that I had returned to collect my jersey, I was told that they had given it to another customer and that they do not take any responsibility for their action. No lost property procedures were followed, the Spur employee who allegedly gave my jersey to another individual, could also not explain why they gave the jersey away to people who were seated in a completely different area of the restaurant. Surely the Spur employee could have checked ownership with our waitress, Tasleema and with the recipient of my belongings before handing it to that person? To top it all, the Manager, Bonny was arrogant and unsympathetic for my loss. What if it was a diamond ring or a wallet? Will NEVER support any SPUR EVER again, fearing loss of possessions!
