Last night a friend and I went to Piatto in Farrarmere, Benoni and once again it was a disappointment. I don't often go there and last night reminded me why!!
I ordered the grilled pork chops - it looked like an average size pork chop that was cut in half, they were so thin!! No crackling, even though I asked for it to be nice and crispy. I suggested to the manager, Brandon, to go to CrawDaddy's in Pretoria to see how pork chops should be served. From about 9:30pm the waiter kept on bringing our bill even though we didn't ask for it, so they wanted us to go. When I spoke to the manager about it, as we wanted to order another drink and the bar was closed already, one could see that he couldn't care less and the owner has already left to go home.
I understand now why the restaurant was only about 40% at 7pm on a Thursday night.
Piatto, you are not likely see me again in any of your restaurants and neither any of my friends. I will take my R800 we spent on dinner last night for two people somewhere else.
