We recently visited Al Fiume restaurant (at River Place) for Sunday lunch, as a possible venue for our year-end function. When making the booking, we specifically enquired about Non-smoking in the restaurant, and were assured that it was a non-smoking restaurant. However, when we arrived, we were placed ONE meter from the smokers table (with no screening), with our CHILDREN at the table. Having the smokers table right next to the "non-smoking" area, resulted in smoke constantly drifting through the restaurant, making it a fully smoking restaurant. When placing our orders for drinks, we had to repeatedly ask our waiter where our drinks were, as they hadn't arrived (after asking twice for them). The quality of food was very mediocre for the prices charged (i.e. over-priced for the quality). At the end we decided not to have desert, based on the poor service experienced to date. When settling the bill at the end of the lunch, we were so eager to get away from the smoke, that we overlooked the fact that we were charged for a drink, which NEVER ARRIVED. Needless to say, we won't be back anytime soon.
