On a Sunday afternoon (11 August) my mother and I decided to go for a quiet lunch to Parrots in the East Rand Galleria. Bad idea. Apparently the owner was having a get-together. There were screaming children the entire afternoon, adults shouting at each other (ignoring the children), and the television (which no-one was watching) was on full volume. As soon as we could, we left, and on our way out mentioned to the person at the door (we think it was the owner's son), who promptly told us:
'Well we own the restaurant, so VOETSEK! '
I could not believe this behaviour. Without your customers, your restaurant is an empty shell. We will never return to a place where we are spoken to and treated like that. Pity, because the food and service there is usually good...
