I took my sister out to the Ocean Basket at Gateway for supper. Our waitress was polite and very helpful and we were having a very good night out. The food was good and we had a relaxing supper, talking and catching up after she spent months overseas. Towards the end of supper we realised that about 3-4 waiters were watching us. We didn't take much notice of it and asked for the bill. As we were getting ready to leave, one of those guys approached us with the following comment, ' Hi, sorry to disturb you ladies, but we were wondering whether you are a couple' To say we were stunned with the question was an understatement. I was too shocked to say anything and my sister explained. We just left, confused and embarrassed, knowing we would never be back to any of your establishments ever again. I would like to know how your staff can label two females enjoying a meal without knowing them. What reason did they have to make that comment? I was tempted to approach the manager, but our day was already ruined and I didn't see the point. The only reason I am complaining so long after is that it still bothers me. Would they have approached two males sitting together? I doubt it.
