The customer comes first... Yeah, Right!

I'd like to report the appalling service I received picking up lunch for my team at Oranjezicht Engen at about 00:30AM on June 27, 2013.

Normally I love this little complex. It is clean, efficient and good value. I patiently wait in a queue of drunken Saturday night patrons at 3 in the morning enjoying the banter and the quiet relationship that I've built with the staff of the Engen garage.

On this particular visit the dear lady behind the Steers counter gave me one drink short. I only found this out at the office while handing out meals to my people. Having realised that one of my team members did not have what sh she expected I drove back to the outlet, till slip in hand to get the already-paid-for Cola.

The girl behind the till was sweet enough to give it to me no questions asked. I asked for a milkshake as a gesture of goodwill. She preferred to give me a soft drink can.

The manager, Kearn, was called to approve this, but preferred to give me an earful about how he can merely offer an empty apology as the shortage in their stock is more important than a customer's experience... even if that customer spends thousands of Rands monthly on their product.
