While passing through Pietermaritzburg in 2010 I had a meal at the Boulder Creek Spur. The restaurant was running some sort of competition, entrance to which required that participants write their name and cellphone numbers on the reverse of their till-slips. Seemed honest. However, ever since entering this 'competition', I have been regularly bombarded with SMS informing me of special offers, opening times, etc. Despite calling the restaurant and requesting Peter to remove my name from their mailing list, this trend continues. I live more than 100 km's away from PMBurg and had I guessed that the 'competition' was a cheap way of soliciting mobile phone numbers for the sole purpose of spamming, I would never have entered. I now shy away from this type of 'competitions'. What do I have to do to have my mobile number removed from Spur's data -base?
