During the december period my family and i attended mugg and bean thinking we would treat ourselves to desert as mugg and bean used to have the most decadent cakes and tarts. To our dissappointment we ordered rich chocolate cake, which was terribly dry tasteless sponge with a thin layer of artificial tasting cream. I picked the cake apart with a fork to see if there was anything else in it as it looked n tasted so cheap, to my surprise there were litttle specks of bright green stuff present in the sponge. We spoke to the manager who said the cakes come pre mixed and its part of the ingredients and there was nothing he could do about it! i would like to know what ingredient remains bright green after being baked? The cake tasted like something from Shoprite checkers! I thought it was just the northgate branch that was bad so tried sandton city and it was just as dissappointing. Mugg and bean has realy dropped their standards. Very dissappointing. All of the cake we ordered tasted like something from a supermarket bakery. Neither branch had lemon meringue available on many occassions.
