Bad business practice - why use them?

I had an accident in my vehicle. The nearest town is 65Km away. I received a quote for R33, 000. I know this supplier to be expensive. I travelled 85Km to another town for another quote. This was for R20, 000. I advised Thembi at Outsurance. She told me they had approved the first quote. She told me twice that they would pay ME the R33, 000 and I could go and get the repair where I wanted. I told her this was bad business, and why would they not accept the second quote, and as I had saved them R13, 000 they could negotiate me not paying the excess or losing my no claim bonus. After discussing with the supervisor, this was refused. Eventually she said they would accept the second quote and pay ME. They deposited R17, 000 in my account after deducting the excess. This is bad business practice, and as a result they will lose the premiums of 3 of my motor vehicles (I will go elsewhere, cheaper in fact) and lose the business of my friends. I will also post on facebook etc.
