Total Incompetence!

Once again African Bank has proved what a bunch of they are. On requesting a settlement figure for my account, the figure received is higher than the balance owing, plus I am in credit??? I sent an email to the relevant people last week Thursday 25th April, and surprise surprise still no response. Call the Customer Service centre, what a joke, and am told that the reason why the settlement figure is higher is that they include one months service fees. The last time I checked, a settlement figure is always lower than the balance owing as future interest and bank charges are not taken into account as the account will have been settled. And on checking with the National Credit Regulator this is correct. Try calling the Consumer Advocates office, only to get a voicemail message saying they not available, leave a name and number and they will get back to you. Wonder how long that will take??? Think its time to take this matter to the Banking Ombudsman and the National Credit Regulator, .
