I called Samlam in february 2013 for a settlement value on my personal loan. The consutant gave me an amount which was valid for 2 days. When it became clear that I would not make payment in time, I called and was told to use the settlement value as is because the debit order for the account was due soon and the balance owing would be deducted from the debit order. What ever amount was left would be refunded to me. I settled the account 1 day before the debit order went off.
I waited for a refund but nothing happened. Then the debit order went off in March again. I called the call center and was tod they are still awaiting proof of payment for the account and the account still shows open - this is a month after the account was settled. I sent proof of payment and was told I would receive a refund for the additional money paid.
i was refunded one months debit order. When I spoke to a consultant this morning I was informed that February months debit order difference would not be refunded. What absolute nonsense. The account was settled before the debit order came off and I was distinctly told that the difference would be payable to me. Apparently someone will call me back.
