I submitted a claim for my provident fund money to ABSA PSSPF in mid November 2012.I was then told to come back to the Cape Town provident fund office after 10 weeks if i did not yet receive my payout. Ten weeks later i was back and was told that the security company I had worked for failed to pay in three months premiums in 2012 and that ABSA will be contacting the company to resolve this issue as all premiums must be up to date for me to receive my money. I was then told to come back in 4 weeks time if i did not receive a payout. I came back after four weeks and was told the same thing and this time I was told to come back in 6 weeks time. Five months later after several visits I still haven't received a cent of the money I slaved away for over a period of ten years. The premiums were deducted from my salary each month and I have the payslips to prove it. This is the first time I'm claiming and desperately need that money. My family is suffering as a result of ABSA's sluggishness in resolving this matter. Why should this be, when I am not the one at fault? What's with the backlog? Who will be held accountable for this mess? How is this fund being managed? I just want ABSA to pay my cash ASAP
