I have a 32 day account with FNB and needed some money out of that account urgently, i knew that there was a penalty I would pay and was happy to pay that since I had given no notice. Call the call center and referred to the investment bank who just tell me that all i need to do is go to a branch give a reason why I need the money and I should get it.

Take some time off work and go to a branch where I am told that now i need proof for my reason... why is this information not on the website and why does the call center not divulge such information... and if i have to give a proof, why the am I paying the penalty for then?

All i needed is a portion of my money and the reason i give by word of mouth should be sufficient and not have to involve police affidavits, they were not part of the players when I opened the account.

But then again, if I was told that I needed to have proof to make an early withdrawal, I would have done that before making a useless trip to the bank..and what happens if i don't have proof..like i need to send the money to a girlfriend stuck somewhere in timbuktu, isn't that reason enough? plus the penalty..Totally appalled by the bank that does not HELP.
