Phone, insurance won't pay out

On 01/04/2013 I sold my Samsung galaxy s3 to a person who paid me R6000 directly into my bank account, I handed him the phone and 2 days later the payment was reversed and the banks were unable to help me. In desperate need I asked my insurance provider if I can lodge an all risks claim. Here is the scary part "Sir you have not activated your unspecified all risks cover", even though I have never been told or offered this. It has now been almost a week and they are still waiting for answers on whether their underwriter will pay me out or not. I feel this is very unfair especially on my first claim, which is also a very bad experience. If they don't pay me out (after all it was their negligence not offering me the cover) I will be forced to take my insurance elsewhere and never recommend ALEXANDER FORBES.
