Capitec Bank
Appauling service-Paying for someone's mistake!

I took out a loan with Capitec in 2010.I was then retrenched and I was handed over without having been told. I then received a call in 2011 to make arrangements to pay the outstanding balance. I made arrangements to pay it off in 9 months. After the 9 months had lapsed there were no more debits going off (Naturally) and of course I assumed that I was done with the payments.

On 25/03/2013 I got a call from Allen saying I owe almost R5000 in interests. I asked her what the interests were for since I finished paying and she said they were interests from the loan and since I had stopped paying more interest accumulated over the past 12 months. She insisted that I must have cancelled the debit order or changed bank accounts because the debits had bounced. She then said I should have asked for a letter showing that I had finished the payments. I asked her why she is only calling me now, a year later. She claims I had not been answering my calls.
I now have to pay for interests that I don't know about. If this is true then I don't understand why the lady I made first arrangements with didn't include interests in the debit order. I am deeply upset and no one want to explain anything to me.
