2013-03-20@03:00. Brother rushed to hospital unstable breathing and irregular heartbeats. He has been on 2 different antibiotics 2 weeks prior, seen 2 doctor and none of the meds helped. They reached Unitas Hospital Centurion, where my brother was put on oxygen, and diagnosed with double pneumonia by the Unitas doctor. There after realizing there is a 90day waiting period, they only have 10 days left. They were asked to pay R10 000.00 to be assisted by Unitas. They then rushed him to the infamous bad service capital of the world, public hospital Tshwane Academic Hospital. There he lay waiting an hour before anyone gave him any attention, no blanket, no pillow. I then phoned his medical aid company Essential Med, asked what other options do they have as he is really sick and they took him off oxygen. The lady I spoke to at 09:10 Angelique, rude, unprofessional, obnoxious woman, told me there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that can be done. In other word, in advance we are sorry for your loss, rules are rules. I even asked her if they can just make an arrangement and pay the end of month. NO! In other words Essential Med, essentially don't care, DONT EVER join, your life means nothing to them
