On Friday, the 15th night towards the 16th February 2013 morning we had a storm in our area. The storm moved one of the tiles from the kitchen roof and the water went inside to the ceiling. On the 18th February 2013, I called ABSA insurance reporting the incident and they were very quick to respond with the reference no: 233 8886, the assessor was arranged to assess my house the next Tuesday, the 26th since the assessor left I have not heard anything from ABSA until I decided to call them on the 18 February 2013 to follow up on my claim and to my suprised the Assessor (Warant) decided that my house is under insured and they will only settle for a cash payment of R1400 but he told me that the entire ceiling will need to be replaced and it will cost me more than R1400. I have been paying for my insurance since 2005 and this how ABSA treat their customers? They didn't have the decent to inform me of their decision, I had to call them. Where is the customer service that their always marketing about???
