I called African Bank for a settlement on a loan, i have not made regular payments and as a result i have ended up with arrears and a much larger amount due thanks to the 33.20% interest. i have called the collections dept and was told i have 2 amounts outstanding one is the original loan amount which is actually twice what i borrowed and the arrears amounts resulting from lack of payment also twice my loan amount, upon querying it with Siyabonga who is the supposed manager he told me i have 2 amounts outstanding, but as i look at my statement it reflects an arrears amount, an installment and the the total sum outstanding. it is unbelievable that a manager at African Bank cannot read a statement or has no idea how arrears or even a settlement amount works, i am flabbergasted that neither did the consultants at African Bank, i am beginning to think they deliberately try to scheme more money out of unaware clients. upon arranging a payment plan with them i was advised i had to pay the arrears and the amount outstanding, which is amazing as it is only one amount!!!
