Absa, together with AIP Services illegally took out a short term insurance product in my name to insure the vehicle I have financed with Absa. I have had my vehicle for 2yrs already. I had to prove insurance on the day of delivery to be able to get my car. I am a financial advisor and know that it is illegal to take out a policy on behalf of someone, furthermore it is illegal for the bank to debit your account if you haven't given them permission to do so. It is disconcerting that a reputable institution are involved in a matter such as this.
