We have spoken to Ruth at collections in Joburg regarding payment holiday on our ABSA bonds.

She has told us that we can submit an application for payment holidays on our bonds then ABSA will place our bonds on hold for 6 months during which they only deduct half the bond repayments. ABSA then will also mark us as bad payers and list us on the black list.

After the six months ABSA will remove us from the list. Once you are listed as bad payer your name never gets removed. Not sure how ABSA will be able to do this.

This is very bad service again from ABSA.

Our main bond is with FNB (because ABSA was not willing to help us last year). We submitted an application for payment holiday to FNB and they approved it without any questions and funny terms.

If ABSA is not willing to help in this regard I will go to FNB and ask if they are willing to take my bonds over from ABSA.

Reason for the payment holiday is that my wife did not work for 8 months last year because we had a baby. So we are trying to recover some of our debt.

I had enough!!!
