How difficult is it to close an account???

I went into the branch last week Thursday to close an additional platinum cheque account that I have. Precious helped me and said she's having trouble closing the account because they incorrectly loaded a smart device on the account. She would sort it out that day still and it would be closed.
Friday... wasn't closed, so I phone, leave messages, no-one comes back.
Monday... wasn't closed, so I phoned, leave messages, no-one comes back. Phoned again, spoke to Precious's manager and she says she will have Precious phone me back.
Tuesday... phone Precious's manager and she says she thought Precious phone me back... she will personally phone me back... no-one phoned back.
Wednesday... phoned for Precious's manager... didn't answer... asked to speak to the branch manager... did get put through.

All I want to know is why can't I close my account and why do I continually have to phone with no-one responding to my questions. I expected better!

All I want to do is close my additional account!
