I moved my banking account to Absa just after I got married but I hadn't received my new ID yet, so the opened my account on my old surname although I had a marraige certificate. I visited your Brakpan Branch in December (I think) since I accidently blocked my cellphone banking. Whilst there I requested they change my surname, I gave them my new I'd and a copy of my marraige certificate. They informed me that it must be an original certificate. In January I went again with my original certificate. After standing in the que for ages I told the lady I needed to change my surname. She was worried more about curling her ponytails between her fingers than looking me in the eye. In a very rude way, she told me I needed proof of adres, my new and old I'd aswell as my marraige certificate. I told her that not what I was told when I was there a couple of weeks ago. She was not interested in helping me in any way. I phoned in requesting to speak to a manager. After leaving a message and waiting 2 weeks for a call, I phoned again, got hold of her, confirmed the ponytail rude lady on her power trip was wrong and I had the right paperwork there. U WASTING MY TIME AND MONEY!!
