I am so appalled at the service I got from Standard Bank Home loans department. I've been divorced for 8 years and has been paying my bond ever since. In the divorce settlement I was granted the house. I've applied for a substitution at Kuilsriver Branch. Submitted all my documentation and it was faxed to the relevant department. After phoning the Home loans department, I was told that my application has been declined due to affordability. I never gave any info about my expenses at that point. They went through my application again and it was found that it was incorrectly recorded. I had to resubmit all my documents again and an application was done, again. I got a sms requesting me to submit my documents again, a third time, which I did. My property was evaluated and I've been waiting on the outcome of the application. After almost 2 weeks I phoned them again and was told that my application has been declined due to affordability or something. However, I have been paying the bond alone for the past 8 years. I want to know what my options are. The staff are not really helpful and nobody gives feedback. Please, there must be something else I can do.
