In November 2009 I was injured in an accident and ended up in Knysna Private Hospital.
Some procedures were not covered by my Medical aid, and I ended with an account of almost R23 000, 00.
Due to my injuries I suffered loss of income (Self employed businessman) and could not settle the full account at once. I also applied to my Medical Aid for an Ex-Gracia payment to aid in the settlement of the hospital account.
In the meantime I came to an arrangement with Knysna Private Hospital to pay off the account at a rate of R1000 per month, an arrangement which I dilligently kept to, and I was fortunate to settle the account earlier than planned, in May of 2012.
Then, in January of 2013 I get a call from ITC BA informing me that I owe them more than R3000 for "collection fees", because I was" handed over to them".
Despite the account having been settled in full, despite this being confirmed by Knysna Private Hospital, despite my arrangements with the hospital they still insist that I owe them money, even though they cannot or will not provide me with statements detailing the "costs incurred".
