I closed my account with Standard Bank on 13.08.2011. The account was then forced open due to a, pin-based withdrawal made at a Nedbank ATM on 15.08.2011. There were 3xR1500 and 2xR250 withdrawals made. I was unaware of these withdrawels as I was still in possession of my card, and as far as I was concerned I was done with Standard Bank. I was contacted by the bank to tell me that I owe them this money. I was advised that they would investigate and get back to me. I was then told that I dont have t o worry and that everything has been dealt with by department and that the creditor also closed the account on their side. In 2012 I was again contacted by another creditor for the same thing and this was dealt with by Standard Bank and the matter was yet again resolved. Until 16 February 2013, when I tried to open an account at Van Schaik bookstore but their credit check revealed that I have an amount owing to Standard Bank. I wish to have this removed against my name please as it prohibits me from making purchases at other institutions and I fear may ruin my future chances at profitable financial dealings and negatively impact my reputation.
