In 2010 i contacted the African Bank call centre as i wanted to settle my Loan outstanding, i was given the settlement amounts and within 3 days i made payment of R7488.69 on the loan (14 August) an R1581.29 for my Credit Card. i paid to the last cent as this is what the agent had confirmed was my Settlement amounts outstanding.
In 2012 (two years after i had settled my account) they contacted me as according to them i hadnt paid what i had owed, they said i now owe them over R2000 on my Credit card and on the loan over R12 000. I haven't made use of this Banking institution since settling my debt with them in 2010. I cut up the credit card as soon as i made the payment.
After having made contact with them, they informed me that they have recordings of all my calls made to the contact centre accept the one where the Agent confirms my settlement amount, very convenient.
I am at wits end as i have contacted them to many times over the past few months and no-one is willing or trying to help me.
