Lying Sales People Incompetent Call Centre Staff

I went into the Fordsburg branch late last year to update my Fica details. During that visit i was offered a credit card (i am 22, dont know anything about the Bank's products). I asked the consultant whether i would be charged any fees and he assured me that the only fee would be a once off upfront payment. He told me it will be good for my credit record. I took out the card. I was subsequently hit with R75 bank fees every month which i only realised when i received my Dec 2012 statement (the first ever statement i received marked as statement nr 3). Upon seeing that i was being charged a fee which i was to (i understand there are terms and conditions/fine print but i expect to be able to TRUST my banker to not to me!!!). I called card division to cancel the card, i kept being putting through to various people where eventually i was told that the account must be cancelled at a Branch. I took time off work to come to the branch (Simmonds Street) where i waited for 50 minutes before being assured that only Card Division (the call centre) can close the account. I dont make loads of money to run around and waste my airtime. I will be moving my account!!
