When phoning Standard Bank with a query I was asked to key in my bank card number AND my pin number, Both these numbers are used to access internet banking so any scammer would be able to access my accounts. Standard says they will never ask for your pin number so why are they doing it now. I eventually got hold of a person behind the voice and he advised it was a verificaiton or he could not assist me. I offered to supply my ID number, address phone number etc but he could not help. I asked for a manager and was told he was unavailable but would contact me. This was 8am and I am still waiting. If my account were compromised STandard would blame me for giving my card and pin details... What the heck is going on Standard Bank please find another way of verifying your customers.
