Struggle to cancel house insurance since May 2010

My husband lost his job in February 2010 and we were forced to settle the housing bond due to reduction of income. We did request at the same time for the housing insurance to be cancelled as well, but to-date no one responded to our request. Last year I send a customer complaint to ABSA and the reply was that it will be send to the responsible department. I did speak and request service from several employees at ABSA regarding this matter. Martie at Brixton Branch who was the first person (and also the only person whom at least tried) to assist me with this request when I settled my housing Bond in 2010 was shocked when I visit her again last year 2013 to enquire about the outstanding amount on my bond account. I was very shocked when I was told that the housing insurance is still active and that the interest just piled up year in and year out. It is 2014, the forth year struggling with the same humble request. My question is what must I do to get this cancelled, because completing forms, verbal requests, personal visits and customer complaints did not help. Must I visit that department personally and cancel it myself physically on their system to ensure the cancellation.
