Internet banking offline & call center dont care

Yesterday, 27 January 2014, the ABSA internet banking site was down - yet again. Firstly, the service for internet banking over the past 6 months has been shocking and unreliable. If ABSA's strategy is to drive internet based customers to another bank this is being well implemented. The days of queueing in branches for are long gone and very British. South Africa has always been renowned for its state of the art electronic banking systems and it appears that ABSA is reverting back to the dark ages of kings, queens and knights of round tables with cheque books. I called the internet banking help desk and was told they do not accept customer complaints and that I must speak my complaint, it will be recorded and I would get a response. When I asked to speak to a duty manager I was told that this was not possible. So, in addition to responding to this complaint please respond to the complaint I recorded yesterday when speaking to your help desk.
