We had a car accident while still covered by Cib Insurance. upon the accident, Cib attended to our needs as per contract, but few days later we were informed that the damaged vehicle will not be covered by the Insurer as we had cancelled our policy. we had no knowledge of any cancellation so we made inquiries and found that a consultant at ABSA Bank had made a mistake and reversed our premium for that moth. The consultant acknowledged the mistake and wrote an apology to Cib Insurance but the Bank management did not take any responsibility as the insurer still the declined to cover our costs. Then the following month, the Insurer made a debit on our account whereas they told us they will not cover our costs. They have not communicated with us since then and will not tell us where the damaged car is. We were recently contacted by the storage company keeping the car, informing us that they will only be keeping the car until 23 October 2013 there after will be be charged R99.00 per day for storage. further more, there are costs that Cib did not pay amounting to R 6 478.64 that we will have to pay collection of the vehicle.
