Our house has been insured through Outsurance for approximately 12 years at currently @ R1200-pm, At the beginning of the year there was a cloud burst and the water came gushing into our 2 bedrooms. At the time I dried out the carpets and left the wooden door to dry. A few months later the door has started to rott and the carpets are also rotting from the water. The Accessor phones me and tells me my claim is going to be rejected as my house has a default and there is not enough gutters and drainage. The whole house doesn't have gutters and there is no problem anywhere else!!! For 12 years there was no default EXCEPT when I put a claim in!! There is sufficient drainage 4 big outlets on balcony that has coped through 12 years of storms, `if this was the case why didn't they check the property when taking out the Household insurance which was done through RMB Bank and not even my choice of an Insurer??? I have only claimed for a geyser burst in the 12 years. I also have 4 cars insured through Outsurance. It's true when there's a CLAIM Outsurance finds a loophole!! UNHAPPY CLIENT!!!
