On September 4th, 2013, 15:15, I withdrew money from my Paypal account linked to my FNB account.
I finished the steps on FNB's site, and dealt with Paypal popups as presented, entering my password, and clicking Pay Now.
Back on FNB's site I was given a screen telling me the transaction is complete with an FNB reference number.
After 6 business days I checked FNB's website and quickly realized there was nothing available re the transaction.
I called FNB who confirmed they have record of the transaction and then called Paypal who refused to admit that there was any record of the transaction, I should just try again. This poses 2 big problems though:
1. If it didn't work initially, why will it work now?
2. I want to withdraw $978. On 4 Sep the payout after the 1.5% fee was R9717 and some cents. Since then the Rand has strengthened against the $, and I'm losing money.
Paypal's only response was to try again, they have no record of the transaction - a very bad way of telling customers they don't care at all. FNB was slightly better, but still reverted with "there's nothing we can do".
I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied, and I want at least what was quoted on Sept 4th.
