FNB trying to out-do BEEP Bank!

We will be leaving on an overseas trip within the next few days. On 29/08 my wife requested quotes for forex from EuroDollar and FNB. We received both quotes and although EuroDollar was cheaper including the R57 admin fee we still went with our bank (FNB).

We accepted the quote and were told the amount of dollars that we would receive. Confirmation was given that the dollars had been ordered. A few days went by without the dollars being delivered. During that time we decided that we would like to take an extra amount. The agent (Nisha) gave my wife the new rate for the extra amount but also told her that a service fee of R1300 would be taken from the amount as she forgot to initially mention it on the original deal. My wife immediately protested as the mistake was on the banks path.

An investigation was done by the bank into the phone calls between my wife and the agent basically to determine if my wife had about not been told about the service fee. For the last 3 days my wife has been trying to settle this matter. The incompetent forex dept refuses to directly contact us.

The pathetic service is very disappointing & we are considering moving both our portfolios.
